GBIKE 1 - Overview
Welcome to the assembly instructions for GBIKE 1, a complete plug-and-play electric conversion kit for bicycles. This guide takes you from unpacking to your first test ride.
What is included in the kit?
GBIKE 1 comes with all the electrical components you need:

The battery and charger are ordered separately through our partner LiVerkstaden together with the kit order.
What do you need besides the kit?
Donor bike

Mechanical parts
Tire, tube, rim tape, freewheel, and sometimes a shifter and brake disc. See our guide Mechanical parts for the full list and buying tips.
Assembly overview
Assembly takes about 2 to 4 hours depending on experience. Here are the 7 steps:
- Remove the old rear wheel: Remove the rear wheel from your donor bike
- Prepare the motor wheel: Install the brake disc and freewheel on the motor wheel
- Install tire and tube: Rim tape, tube, and tire
- Install the motor wheel: Put the wheel in the frame with torque arms
- Install the throttle: Throttle and, if applicable, shifter on the handlebars
- Battery and controller: Mount the battery bracket and controller on the frame
- Connect everything and finish: Connect everything, tidy up, and test ride!
Before you start
The battery cables are always live regardless of whether the switch is on or off.
NEVER let the battery connectors touch each other. This can cause a short circuit, sparks, and fire. We recommend that throughout the build you keep the battery disconnected from the mounting plate to avoid unnecessary risk.
